Diagnosis
Male : A relatively large Drepanosticta species with conspicuous pale markings on the synthorax and abdomen. Head predominantly dark; labrum, mandibles, and anteclypeus bluish white. The anterior part of the labrum has a brownish-black band, while the remaining parts of the head are black with a metallic lustre. The transverse occipital carina is well developed with angular lateral extremities.
The prothorax is mainly brownish black. The posterior lobe is simple, without posterior processes; the lateral corners are somewhat erect and the posterior margin is almost straight.
The synthorax is brownish black with contrasting dirty-yellow stripes. A broad pale marking extends over the metepisternum and metepimeron. Legs are mostly dirty yellow with darker rings and markings. Wings are hyaline, with dark brown venation and a blackish-brown pterostigma.
The abdomen is variegated, with paired pale markings on many segments. Segment 1 has lateral yellow spots, segment 2 bears a large pale marking, and segments 3–6 have paired oval markings. Segments 8–10 are predominantly darker. The male anal appendages are distinctive: the superior appendages are dark brown, broad at the base and gradually tapering, with the distal part strongly narrowed and directed inward. The inferior appendages are longer than the superior appendages, slender and clasp-like, with a broad basal portion and a narrow distal half.
Female : Unknown.

Locality
Distribution
Endemic to southeastern Sulawesi, Indonesia. Known from Gunung Watuwila, Sulawesi Tenggara.
Ecology
Habitat
Found at Gunung Watuwila above 1000 m a.s.l. The species was collected along a relatively common platycnemidid habitat where clear streams flow through forest. The type locality consisted of clear running water over boulders and sand, largely shaded by surrounding vegetation.
Remarks
Notes
Distinguished from related Sulawesi Drepanosticta by the combination of a simple posterior pronotal lobe, conspicuous pale thoracic markings, and the shape of the male anal appendages. It resembles D. penicillata, but differs mainly in the form of the pterostigma, more pronounced lateral extensions of the postoccipital carina, and the structure of the inferior appendages.
The species name watuwilensis refers to Gunung Watuwila, the type locality where the species was discovered.
