Diagnosis
Drepanosticta sundana is the largest species of Drepanosticta found in Java, with an abdomen length of 40–42 mm. This species is commonly known as the two-banded shadowdamsel because it has two bands on the lateral sides of the synthorax. The prothorax is characterized by a pair of pale brown, club-shaped processes on either side of the posterior lobe, projecting almost vertically upward and bearing a row of fine hairs of the same colour at their apices. Abdominal segments 9–10 are black, while the anal appendages are black with brown tips.
