Diagnosis
Male : Medium-sized Drepanosticta with a predominantly brown colour pattern. Head with bluish-white labrum, mandibles, and anteclypeus; the anterior margin of the labrum is brownish black. The remaining parts of the head are brown, with broad pale markings between the antennae and lateral ocelli. Transverse occipital carina is well developed, with lateral extremities elevated and rounded. Antennae brownish black with pale pedicellus.
The prothorax is pale brown; the anterior lobe is simple, while the posterior lobe is short with very small lateral projections. The synthorax is brown with pale stripes, including a pale stripe over the metepisternum and another along the metepimeron. Legs are dirty yellow with darker rings at the joints. Wings are hyaline with brown venation and brown pterostigma.
The abdomen is brown with extensive pale markings. Segments 3–7 have pale basal markings, while segments 8–10 are darker brownish black. Male anal appendages are distinctive: the superior appendages are long and slender, curved inward in dorsal view, and possess a small inner tooth near the distal part. The inferior appendages are shorter, slightly curved, and directed inward.
Female : Similar to the male in general colour pattern. Head with pale bluish markings and brownish areas. The synthorax resembles the male but is paler. Abdomen brown with pale markings on segments 2–7; segments 8–10 are darker. The valves and terminal appendages are long and extend beyond the level of the anal appendages.

Remarks
Notes
Belongs to the Drepanosticta moluccana species-group. This species was originally described by Fraser (1926), but the original description was incomplete, lacking information on abdominal segments 7–10 and the anal appendages. Van Tol (2007) redescribed the species based on additional material.
It differs from other members of the moluccana-group by the structure of the posterior lobe of the prothorax and male anal appendages. The female lectotype previously associated with D. robusta is considered close to D. moluccana, and van Tol noted uncertainty regarding its relationship.
