Diagnosis
Male : Medium-sized Drepanosticta with a predominantly brown colour pattern. Head mostly matt black with bluish-white labrum, anteclypeus, and mandibles; the vertex and occipital region are blackish. Transverse occipital carina is well developed, with slightly elevated lateral extremities. Antennae brownish black with yellow pedicel.
The prothorax is pale brown, with the median portion of the posterior lobe darker brown. The posterior lobe bears a pair of flattened processes extending backwards, shorter than those of D. halmahera, with broad bases that gradually widen distally and rounded tips.
Synthorax variegated brownish black with paler medium-brown markings. Legs are dirty yellow, becoming darker on the joints. Wings are hyaline with brown venation and an elongate brown pterostigma.
Abdomen mostly brown, with segments 9–10 brownish black. Segment 2 has elongated triangular pale markings, while segments 3–7 have pale annules and subquadrate pale markings. The male anal appendages are diagnostic: superior appendages are broad basally and strongly narrowed distally, with a distinct angular tooth on the distal portion; inferior appendages are longer than the superiors, strongly curved inward, and with a constricted distal section.
Female : Generally similar to the male but largely pale brown. The posterior pronotal processes are distinct, as in the male, but shorter. The terminal abdominal segments are damaged in the available female specimen, preventing detailed description (Van Tol, 2007).

Remarks
Notes
Belongs to the Drepanosticta megametta species-group. It is closely related to D. halmahera and D. rudicula, but differs by the structure of the posterior pronotal processes and male anal appendages. Compared with D. halmahera, the pronotal processes are shorter, and the inferior appendages have a distinct subterminal constriction.
