Diagnosis
Male : A large, very slender Palaiargia with an exceptionally long abdomen, almost twice the length of the wings. The body is mainly deep black with bright azure-blue markings. The head lacks pale postocular spots. The synthorax has complete blue antehumeral stripes and broad blue lateral markings. The wings are broad, shortly petiolate, and bluntly rounded at the tips. The male is especially recognized by its complex anal appendages; the superior appendage bears a long curved basal spur directed ventrally.
Female : The female is similar to the male in general colour pattern but has a much shorter abdomen. The posterior lobe of the prothorax is strongly enlarged, with raised auricle-like lobes. The abdomen is black with conspicuous blue markings, especially on segments 8–9, whereas in the male the blue markings are more developed on segments 9–10. The genital valves are black with a broad blue dorsal stripe.

Locality
Distribution
Known from the North Moluccas, especially Halmahera and Batjan/Bacan. Records include central Halmahera at about 50–700 m a.s.l. and southern Batjan/Bacan in lowland areas around 50–100 m a.s.l.
Ecology
Habitat
The habitat and habits are unknown. Lieftinck noted that several specimens were collected, including pairs in copula, suggesting that the species may be locally common where it occurs, but no exact habitat information was provided.
