Nososticta nigrofasciata

Male : A quite small-sized damselfly with black body coloration and blue markings. Face characterized with a blue bar that is sometimes medially interrupted, from eye to eye across anterior frons including genae. Synthorax is characterized by its front part that has blue patches. The abdomen is slender, with segments 7–10 are predominantly black, with distinct blue markings on segment 8, and the superior appendages are blue. This species can be distinguished especially by the male anal appendages and thoracic features: the blue antehumeral and mesepimeral patches are nearly equal in size. Female: The female Nososticta nigrofasciata has a black body with pale markings on the synthorax, without the pale/bright mesepimeral patch connecting ante-humeral and metepisternal patch. The female of this species can be distinguished by the pronotum posterior lobe, which has five sublobes, as well as by its synthoracic pattern and prothoracic details.
