Diagnosis
Male : A medium-sized species with a predominantly chrome-yellow to orange-yellow body and distinctive dark apical abdominal rings. The head is mostly yellow, with the labium pale yellow, labrum bright yellow, and vertex dark brown to olive-brown. The prothorax and synthorax are mainly olive-green to greenish-yellow, with only weak darker markings. The legs are pale ochreous with narrow dark brown lines along the outer surfaces of the femora. Wings are hyaline with saffron tinting, and the pterostigma is very small and dark brown.
The abdomen is long and slender, mostly chrome-yellow, becoming more vivid on the dorsum of segment 2. Segments 3–6 possess very distinct blackish-brown apical rings occupying about one-sixth of each segment, while segments 7–10 are progressively darker. The anal appendages are darkened, much shorter than segment 10, and characteristically shaped; the superior appendages are slightly longer than the inferior appendages.
